Information for the 2024/2025 VJBL Tryouts

Age Groups for 2024/2025 Season

  • Under 12’s (Born 2014, 2015 and 2016)
  • Under 14’s (Born 2012 and 2013)
  • Under 16’s (Born 2010 and 2011)
  • Under 18’s (Born 2008 and 2009)
  • Under 20’s (Born 2006 and 2007)

What to Bring:

  • Leather basketball (with name clearly marked)
  • Water bottle
  • Light/dark reversible singlet
  • Players coming from another rep club must have completed the permission to train form prior to attending.

 

– DOMESTIC TRYOUTS (non-representative players only) –

  1. Players who have not played rep in the past must attend the domestic tryout so the coaches can show them drills that are done at rep level at a high intensity.
  2. A panel of coaches will assess each player on their own merits on the selection criteria to identify if they have the skills to attend the Boomers Rep Tryouts.
  3. There is no set number of players selected in each age group.
  4. The panel of coaches meet after the end of the tryout and openly discuss the players who attended. The Director of Coaching has the final say on selections.
  5. Players selected & not selected are notified by email if they are successful in attending Boomers Rep Tryouts in October.

** Due to the large number of applicants in the U12 age group, we are moving the pre rep tryouts for domestic athletes to Bulleen where we have three courts and can split them into two age groups over two hours.  The bottom bottom and bottom age kids will run at 7:00pm, followed by the top age kids at 8:00pm. **

Tuesday 17th September at Bulleen Stadium

Under 12 Boys (Born 2015 and 2016)  7:00pm to 8:00pm
Under 12 Boys (Born 2014)  8:00pm to 9:00pm

Tuesday 17th September at Mullum Mullum Stadium

Under 14 Boys (Born 2012 and 2013)  7:00pm to 8:00pm
Under 16 Boys and U18 Boys (Born 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011)  8:00pm to 9:00pm

Thursday 19th September at Templestowe Leisure Centre (TLC)

Under 14 Girls (Born 2012 and 2013)  6:30pm to 7:30pm

* Please note there are no domestic tryouts for the U12 Girls, U16 Girls and U18 Girls.  They are welcome to go straight through to the official Bulleen Boomers 24/25 VJBL Tryouts.

Sunday 6th & 13th October at Bulleen Stadium

Under 12 Boys – 8:15am to 10:00am
Under 18 Boys – 10:15am to 12:00pm
Under 16 Boys – 12:15pm to 2:00pm
Under 14 Boys – 2:15pm to 4:00pm

Tuesday 8th & 15th October at Mullum Mullum Stadium

Under 12 Girls – 6:00pm to 7:45pm
Under 18 Girls – 8:00pm to 9:45pm

Wednesday 9th & 16th October at EDSC

Under 14 Girls – 6:00pm to 7:45pm
Under 16 Girls – 8:00pm to 9:45pm

Friday 11th October at Mullum Stadium

Under 12 Boys and U12 Girls – 6:00pm to 7:00pm
Under 14 Boys and U14 Girls – 7:00pm to 8:00pm
Under 16 Boys and U16 Girls – 8:00pm to 9:00pm
Under 18 Boys and U18 Girls – 9:00pm to 10:00pm

 

~ U20 Tryout Information ~

Friday 18th October at Bulleen Stadium

Under 20 Girls – 7:00pm to 8:30pm (White Court)

Under 20 Boys – 7:00pm to 9:00pm (Blue/Gold Court)
