Junior Community League (JCL)
This after-school program encompasses 16 local schools with about 150 teams participating. The competition is open to all children from grades 1-6, playing on Mondays to Thursdays. Games are held at Bulleen Basketball stadium, Templestowe Leisure Centre (TLC), Donvale Indoor Sports Complex (DISC) and Templestowe Heights Primary School.
Junior Domestic Saturday
The Junior Domestic Saturday competition has teams for children ranging from Under 8s to Under 21. Junior domestic basketball is suitable for all skill levels from beginner to advanced.
Junior Championship VJBL
Junior Championship (VJBL) or Representative basketball is an elite competition for boys and girls in age groups from Under 12 through to Under 21. It is organised by Basketball Victoria and played on Friday nights.
Senior Championship
Our senior championship program proudly represents the club in the BIGV Competition, a semi-professional Victorian league, that runs from March to September each year.
Senior Domestic
Senior Domestic (Social Community League) basketball is for everyone aged 15 and above who want to play basketball in a social team.
Spring Showdown
The Spring Showdown is a junior domestic basketball tournament held during the September school holidays. Open to domestic and rep-level teams, it offers a fun and competitive environment with a minimum of four games per team and finals for those who qualify.
King's Birthday Tournament
The Bulleen Boomers U10’s King’s Birthday Tournament is a fun, fast-paced basketball event for players born in 2016 or younger. Held over the King’s Birthday weekend (7–8 June 2025), it offers young athletes a chance to compete in a supportive environment with four guaranteed games and finals for qualifying teams.

3×3 basketball competitions offer a fast, fun, and dynamic way to play the game in a half-court format. Open to a range of age groups and skill levels, these competitions focus on skill development, quick decision-making, and teamwork in a high-energy setting.

The Bulleen-Templestowe Basketball Club Inc (known on court as the Bulleen Boomers) has been operating in the Bulleen, Templestowe and surrounding suburbs of outer-eastern Melbourne for over 55 proud years.
Our club provides an extensive platform for officials and players of all ages to realise their potential and excel at all levels of basketball. Junior participation begins with training programs, clinics, tournaments and leagues designed to empower young players to achieve, as they are given opportunities to progress their skills and dedication to the game, leading to taking the court at the senior, elite level.
Domestic basketball is local club-level competition played on Saturdays. It’s ideal for players of all skill levels looking to play in a team environment.
Registration is completed online through PlayHQ. We open registrations before each new season (Summer and Winter).
We offer teams from U8 through to U21. Age groups are based on the player’s birth year.
Representative basketball is a higher-level competition for skilled players selected through tryouts. Bulleen Boomers compete in the Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL). Tryouts are usually held in September/October for the following season.
