The Eastern Development League is a development pathway in a competitive environment, which is different from domestic basketball. Domestic basketball prioritises participation for all players.
In EDL, the focus is on helping players develop, improve and prepare for higher levels of competitive basketball. While providing players with meaningful and reasonable court time is an important part of development, court time is not guaranteed to be equal at all times and may vary across the season. Factors such as the stage of a player’s development, the circumstances of a game, and the competitive context can all influence court time at different points.
The overarching priority in EDL is player growth and learning within a competitive setting.
