MOLL JOINS BOOMERS AS JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP DIRECTOR OF COACHING

Posted on Friday 19th April, 2024

The Bulleen Boomers are proud to unveil Ross Moll as our newly appointed Junior Championship Director of Coaching, marking a significant moment in the club’s proud history.

Ross’ affiliation with the Boomers spans an impressive four decades, beginning with his formative years as a junior player in the former Primary School competition (JCL league) and progressing through various levels of competition, including domestic and graduating as a member of the Boomers U20 VJBL program. His coaching journey commenced at the tender age of 13 in the Bulleen Primary School league, igniting a lifelong passion for the sport.

Embedded within the fabric of the Bulleen community, Ross actively pursued his coaching ambitions and progressed through Victoria’s elite representative competitions working alongside some of the best coaches in the modern era which culminated in leading a VJBL/BIG V program of his own.

Notably the thirteen-year span from 2003-2016 at Whittlesea where he initially enhanced the Pacers male VJBL program into an annually recognised growth hub and then transitioned into their BIG V Men’s program where he tasted not only team success and achieved league promotion but individual accolades as voted on by coaching peers stamps his credibility and regard as a coach.

Speaking on elevating his role within the Boomers VJBL ranks Ross said, “I have been lucky enough over the years to work with, and learn from many great coaches. This has allowed me to witness firsthand the foundations required in order to have a successful program. I look forward to the challenge ahead of growing on the work of those who came before me to provide all coaches and players in the Bulleen program the opportunity to be the best they can be.”

Bulleen Basketball General Manager Ryan Rogers spoke with great optimism about the appointment of Moll, “Ross gives us a highly experienced leader who is an astute basketball mind and operator that I’m confident can drive greater standards, collaboration, and performance as we embark on the next phase of our internal development.”

In his new capacity, Ross will play a pivotal role in shaping the trajectory of aspiring players which signifies a full-circle moment for the Templstowe resident, “Having spent so many of my early years at Bulleen, I have always had an emotional attachment to the club. It is where I learnt the game as a player and coach, developed friendships that still remain today, and achieved some memorable successes, so when the opportunity to return to where it all began in this role presented there was an additional push to take it up” said Moll.

Ross will commence his part-time role as of today (Friday 19th May) where he will initially build intel and initiate relationships within the coaching fraternity while continuing as a team coach in our U/18 girls program for the remainder of season 2024.
